HomeTitle Glossary › Joint Tenants

Joint tenants are two or more people who hold title to real estate together with equal rights of enjoyment and a right of survivorship — when one joint tenant dies, their share passes to the surviving tenants until title vests in the last survivor.

In Idaho

In Idaho, married couples often hold community real estate together, and joint tenancy with right of survivorship is also available to co-owners. Idaho does not recognize tenancy by the entirety (see Idaho Code Title 32, Chapter 9 on community property).
