A homestead exemption protects a portion of the equity in a person's primary residence from certain creditors.

In Idaho, the homestead exemption is automatic for an owner-occupied primary residence and protects equity up to a statutory maximum ($175,000 as of the 2025 code) (Idaho Code § 55-1003). Confirm the current amount.
