Idaho regulation (IDAPA 18.05.01.013) allows a reissue rate on the owner’s policy when a property was insured recently. If a new owner’s policy is ordered within two years of a prior owner’s or purchaser’s policy and you can provide that prior policy (or reasonable proof), the insurer may charge as little as 50% of the basic rate — up to a 50% discount. There’s also a discount when refinancing if you have an existing owner’s policy. Because Idaho is a filed-rate state, the exact reissue discount varies by company, so ask Kootenai Title Company what it offers.
