A mechanic's lien is a lien on real estate, created by operation of law, securing payment owed to persons who provide labor, services, or materials for construction or improvements on the property.

In Idaho

In Idaho, construction (mechanic's) liens are created and recorded under the lien statutes (Idaho Code Title 45, Chapter 5), which set who may claim a lien and the deadlines to record and enforce it.
